Menopause Gummies: The Answer to your Problems?

Updated: 5 days ago

menopause gummies

If you've searched for 'menopause gummies' online recently, you're certainly not alone.

A quick search reveals hundreds of colourful products all promising to help with hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety, poor sleep, low energy, weight gain and more.

It sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Simply take a gummy each day and watch your menopause symptoms disappear.

Unfortunately, menopause isn't that simple!

While some menopause supplements can play a useful role in supporting your health, menopause gummies are rarely the miracle solution they're often marketed as.

In fact, many women spend hundreds of pounds on supplements without ever addressing the factors that have the biggest impact on how they feel.

In this guide, we'll look at what menopause gummies actually are, whether they work, the growing problem of "menowashing", and what I believe women should focus on instead if they want to feel healthier, happier and more like themselves again.

What Are Menopause Gummies?

Menopause gummies are vitamin and supplement products specifically marketed towards women in perimenopause and menopause.

Unlike traditional tablets or capsules, they come in chewable, sweetened gummy form. They're often brightly packaged, easy to take and marketed as a convenient solution for menopause symptoms.

Many contain combinations of vitamins, minerals, herbal ingredients and plant extracts that claim to support hormone balance, energy levels, mood, sleep and overall wellbeing.

However, it's important to remember that they are still supplements.

They are not medications and they do not replace medical advice.

And despite some marketing claims, they are not capable of "curing" menopause symptoms.

Many gummy products also contain added sugars, flavourings and fillers. Some contain only very small amounts of the ingredients highlighted on the front of the packaging.

That's why it's important to look beyond the marketing and understand exactly what you're buying.

Menopause Gummies Are Big Business

As awareness of menopause has increased, so has the number of products aimed at women looking for symptom relief.

Today there are menopause teas, menopause drinks, menopause skincare products, menopause chocolates, menopause gummies and countless menopause-branded supplements.

Brands want your money!

The global menopause market as a whole is expected to reach $24.4 billion by 2030 (Yahoo Finance)

The reality is simple. Brands know menopausal women are actively looking for solutions.

And when you're exhausted, struggling with brain fog, anxious, overwhelmed and desperate to feel better, it's very easy to believe the promise of a 'quick fix'.

Unfortunately, that's exactly where many companies focus their marketing.

The Problem with 'Meno Washing'

'Meno washing' is a term used to describe companies that use menopause as a marketing tool to sell products with exaggerated claims, limited evidence and increased prices.

The menopause industry has brought some positive changes. Women are finally talking more openly about symptoms and support is improving.

However, the downside is that some businesses have recognised menopause as a highly profitable market.

Products are often marketed as if they're specifically designed to solve menopause symptoms when, in reality, they're simply standard supplements wrapped in menopause-focused branding.

That doesn't necessarily make them 'bad' products.

It simply means we should approach marketing claims with a healthy dose of scepticism.

Before spending money on any supplement, ask yourself:

  • Is there evidence behind the ingredients?

  • Are the doses meaningful?

  • Does this address my own genuine deficiency or health need?

  • Am I buying a solution...or just buying hope?

  • Is the brand reputable?

It's important to have a balanced view on this though. The lovely brand Peachie give a very credible argument here:

Do Menopause Gummies Actually Work?

The honest answer is...sometimes.

Certain vitamins and nutrients may be beneficial during perimenopause and menopause, particularly if you're deficient or struggling with specific symptoms.

However, menopause gummies themselves are not the answer.

If you're experiencing significant symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, hot flushes, low mood, brain fog or fatigue, the cause is often far more complex than a simple vitamin deficiency.

Hormonal fluctuations, stress, poor sleep, nutrition, lifestyle factors and underlying health conditions may all be contributing.

That's why many women feel disappointed after spending money on multiple supplements.

They're trying to solve a complex issue with a single product.

What Works Better Than Menopause Gummies?

In my experience working with women in perimenopause and menopause, the biggest improvements usually come from addressing the foundations of health first.

This often includes:

  • Reviewing whether HRT might be appropriate

  • Improving protein intake

  • Prioritising sleep

  • Managing stress and nervous system overload

  • Supporting gut health

  • Correcting genuine nutrient deficiencies

  • Building sustainable movement and exercise habits

  • Understanding how hormonal changes affect the body

Supplements absolutely have a place.

But they work best when they're supporting a strong foundation rather than trying to replace one.

The Supplements I Recommend

While I don't believe menopause gummies are a miracle solution, there are some supplements that may be beneficial depending on your circumstances. Always consult your doctor before taking supplements.

B Vitamins

Essential for regulating our nervous system, they help with anxiety and give us energy. Bio Care's B Complex is a good option.

Vitamin D

The sunshine vitamin! It has many critical uses in our bodies including supporting our immune system, our joints and our bones, our mood and our mental health. For most of the year, we're usually unable to get enough from the sun (especially in the UK) so supplementing is a good idea. This spray from Better You is good.

Magnesium Glycinate

There are different types of magnesium but Magnesium Glycinate is important for many different functions in our bodies including sleep and mood support.

Omega-3

Buy the correct Omega-3 with high levels of EPA and DHA. They are the fatty acids that provide many health benefits including brain health, anti-inflammatory properties and supports our bone health.

Calcium

We should be able to get enough from many foods such as dairy, leafy greens, almonds and sardine bones - but we do need more calcium in menopause so make sure you are eating plenty of calcium-rich foods.

Iron

Women experiencing heavy periods during perimenopause may become iron deficient. Always speak to your GP before supplementing with iron.

Can an All-in-One Menopause Supplement Help?

One of the biggest challenges with menopause supplements is knowing which products contain meaningful ingredients and effective doses.

Many menopause gummies contain only a handful of ingredients and rely heavily on marketing claims.

If you prefer an all-in-one approach, look for products that are transparent about their ingredients and formulated specifically to support women's health during menopause.

One supplement I use myself and have reviewed in detail is Nu Mind Menopause Support.

nu mind menopause support

It contains a combination of vitamins, minerals, adaptogens and botanical ingredients including ashwaganda and rhodiola, alongside nutrients that support energy, mood and overall wellbeing.

What I particularly like is that it takes a broader approach to menopause support rather than focusing on a single symptom. Plus, it's been developed by menopause nutritionist, Charlotte Hunter.

Why Menopause nutrition matters more than ever

If there is one thing I wish every woman understood about menopause, it's that

food matters. A lot.

Your diet influences energy levels, blood sugar balance, muscle mass, bone health, gut health, inflammation and long-term disease risk.

The right nutrition approach can make a significant difference to how you feel both now and in the years ahead.

That's why I always encourage women to focus on food first whenever possible.

Supplements should support a healthy diet, not replace one.
