The Best Apps for Menopause, Perimenopause and Women's Health

Technology is transforming the way women manage their health, and nowhere is this more evident than in menopause and perimenopause support.
If you're tracking symptoms, improving sleep, reducing stress, building healthy habits or staying active, there are now hundreds of apps designed specifically to support women's health.
From menopause symptom trackers to mindfulness apps and fitness platforms, the right technology can help you better understand your body and make informed decisions about your wellbeing.

One of the biggest developments in women's health technology comes from Apple.
In 2026, Apple announced that the iOS 27 Health app will include dedicated perimenopause and menopause support, allowing women to track symptoms, log menopause status, monitor cycle changes and receive notifications when their cycle patterns suggest they may be entering perimenopause.
The update also includes educational content and specialised fitness programmes designed specifically for women navigating hormonal changes.
While technology can never replace medical advice or personalised support, it can be a valuable tool for understanding your symptoms, tracking patterns and feeling more in control of your health journey.
Best Menopause and Perimenopause Apps
Apple Health
Apple Health app is becoming one of the most comprehensive menopause apps available.
The new iOS 27 update introduces dedicated perimenopause and menopause tracking, symptom logging, educational resources and alerts that may help women recognise the transition into perimenopause earlier.
Women aged 40 and over can receive notifications when long-term cycle data suggests they may be entering perimenopause.
If you already use an iPhone or Apple Watch, this could become one of the easiest ways to monitor symptoms such as hot flushes, fatigue, headaches, mood changes and irregular periods.
Balance Menopause
Created by menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson, the Balance Menopause app, is one of the most popular menopause apps in the UK.
It offers symptom trackers, community support and an abundance of evidence-based information on all aspects of menopause and women's health.
Clue
Period tracking apps such as Clue tell you when to expect your period.
Others help you understand ovulation and when you're most likely to get pregnant.
You can view your current and future period dates, ovulation and fertile days, your moods and your symptoms in a simple month-view calendar.
Mental Health and Mindfulness Apps
Clementine
Clementine is a hypnotherapy app for busy women who want to find their inner calm, reduce anxiety, ditch self-doubt and get a great night's sleep.
Named one of the 'seven apps every woman should own' by The Guardian.

Apps like Headspace and Calm offer guided meditations, breathing exercises and sleep stories, promoting relaxation and stress reduction.
Digital journaling platforms like Day One allow you to express your thoughts and emotions privately, facilitating self-reflection and emotional release.

Virtual therapy platforms like BetterHelp provide convenient access to licensed therapists, enabling you to seek support from the comfort of your home.

Motivation and Goal Setting
Tools like Todoist and Trello help you set and visualise your goals. Breaking down tasks into manageable steps enhances motivation and provides a sense of accomplishment.

Apps such as HabitBull assist you in forming positive habits by tracking your progress and offering reminders, reinforcing consistency and motivation.

Fitness Apps
Wearable devices like Fitbit or Apple Watch monitor your physical activity, encouraging you to stay active and providing insights into your fitness progress.
Apps like Couch to 5K, Nike Training Club and MyFitnessPal offer training plans, workout routines and nutritional guidance, ensuring you stay motivated and achieve your fitness goals.
Online platforms like Peloton (no you don't need the bike to use the app!) and Yoga with Adriene provide virtual fitness classes, making it easier to incorporate workouts into your routine.

Mindful Screen Time
Tools like Freedom and Stay Focused limit your access to distracting websites and social media, helping you manage screen time and stay focused on your priorities.
Practicing mindful screen time involves being aware of your digital consumption.
Designate specific periods for checking emails and social media, allowing yourself technology-free moments to unwind and connect with the present.
Community and Support
Online Support Groups: Joining online communities related to your interests, goals, or challenges provides a sense of belonging and support, fostering motivation and emotional well-being. I love Postcards from Midlife!

Apps like Meetup facilitate in-person gatherings and virtual events, enabling you to connect with like-minded individuals, strengthening your social network.
